The idea into the concept of buying "cooked books" or anything that is a blatant fabrication, is the removal of knowledge, doubt, or suspicion about a subject. if one is uninformed it is easy to pass off as fact something that is fiction. But, if one is believed to have some knowledge of something, then an orchestration needs to take place in order to dispel whatever knowledge. The Republicans were able to initiate the orchestration by promising to return "moral values" to the White House. They then seized the opportunity that 9/11 created by insisting upon the moral imperative to act. Caught up in the process were many Democrats, like Feinstein, who either began to doubt their beliefs or doubt their political fortunes by holding firm to their beliefs. Either way, their weaknesses allowed them to swept over. Wasn't she just up for election? Its too little too late, and anything further said sounds like "I knew it all along."
