Submitted as a public service to promote good government, here is an incomplete list of "Birther" Republican Congresspersons, who are on record as subscribing to the wingnut conspiracy theory that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen. Please share this information with the voters from their respective districts who will have the last word on whether these nutjobs win re-election. Hey, there are some nice 30 second TV and radio spots here for their opponents, too!
In fairness, Rep. Trent Franks deserves our respect for answering a simple question directly, honestly, and correctly, regardless of his ultra-conservative views.

As Josh Marshall said on TPM the other day, I'm still not sure why this is an issue at all - we know who his mom is, and she was a citizen, which makes him a citizen, even if he was born on Mars.
Oh, that, and he was born in Hawaii. The lengths to which these morons will go to appease wingnuts never fail to amuse me.
I'm getting a kick out of this whole birther movement.
I checked my records. I recently had been required to get different documentation than I had possessed at the time in order to obtain a US Passport.
The document that I had to apply to the county for and pay for says on it, "Cerification of Vital Record .... State of Illinois .... Certificate of Live Birth." It doesn't have any kind of watermark or embossed seal, just colored patterns on the paper, presumably to make it harder to photocopy or duplicate. It has my parents' names and only my mom's signature, as well as the doctor's signature. The entire document was very noticeably reprinted from some other source.
On the other hand, I have the OTHER document. This document has the name and location of the hospital on what is quite obviously the hospital's original document. It has my name hand-written and the day and time, also hand-written. It has the doctor's and Executive Director (of the hospital?) also hand-written. It has a hand-written. Hospital No. And it has a big, huge, gold embossed seal in the corner with the hospital name and the word "SEAL." This document appears to be the actual, original document given out at the time of my birth. Interestingly, this latter document was not acceptable for a attaining a US Passport.
