And now, in this corner...

Congratulations, Art Maurer of Crete (the hideously ugly suburb, not the beautiful Greek island). You are this week's winner!

when I wrote this letter, it had been 2,313 days since the last terrorist attack in the United States--on Sept. 11, 2001. I have a rock that keeps tigers away from my house. I haven't spotted a single one in years. I wonder how much Art M. would pay to be free of tigers?

Methinks you are perhaps a little hard this writer, even though Der Chimpenfuhrer has done a whole lot of things to make us less safe.

However, even a committed lefty should agree that we have enemies who would love to pull off another flashy attack on our country for PR purposes - but, so far, they haven't been able to do it.

Even though Bush is the Keystone President, some people in the federal government have done a pretty good job of keeping the bad guys out, and they probably could do continue to do that without shredding our civil liberties.

These "protectors" deserve some credit, and they shouldn't be tarred with the same brush as the bonehead. Heck, some of them might even be liberals!

George W. Bush, and by extension, his government, deserve exactly as much credit for protecting us from a meteorite as they do from teh brown people who clearly scare the urine out of some here.
