Word on the street is that the free tickets for Obama's party in Grant Park are no longer available. Chicago police are expecting up to ONE MILLION PEOPLE Tuesday night!

Perhaps they've underestimated?

Man, I wish I could be there.

With all due respect, this isn't the message the Obama camp wants out there.

It's not over yet.

Agreed Carlos, but after reading an interview with a former Diebold employee I need to get that giddy feeling back.

The Repubes want Obama supporters to be complacent. After watching the 30min spot tonight I can't imagine there are any more undecideds. I'm feeling pretty invincible.

To me, it doesn't mean that he's "got" the election. It's that he's "got" the campaign, he knows what he's doing, and the rest of us should trust that his strategy will work.

I am going to Grant Park - my wife is coming with me. I am trying to convince my children to come. My brother and his wife and their 2 children will be driving 50 miles to be there. One million people may be a serious underestimation. I am bringing 2 bottles of champagne.

If it wasn't for the 2.5 hour drive each way, having to work the next day, and my wife being at work until midnight on Tuesday, we'd be there too. Can you just imagine what that will look like if Obama wins, and how different it will be from the traditional? No hotel ballroom filled with (deservedly excited) campaign staff. A million (or more) people, from all walks of life, just regular folks, together, cheering the end of one of the worst chapters in American history? I get goosebumps just thinking about the possibilities.

What makes this idea for a celebration different is the recognition by the Obama campaign staff (look how far David Axelrod has come!!) that this is not merely a "campaign worker" celebration. Obama has embraced and harnessed the both the power and the essence of the "netroots." There will be bandwagon jumpers present at the celebration, but I think that most will have felt a real connection to this campaign and the victory that each senses is coming.
