Grumble, grumble, grumble. After 3 years of watching Dusty stumble his way through managing the Coob, watching Ozzie this postseason has been a revelation.
I said to my wife this morning that, after watching the Red Sox and White Sox sweep to break their streaks, when the Cubs get to the Series, they'll figure out a way to lose in agonizing fashion to the Devil Rays or something. Sigh.
I'm still puzzled by the Sox fans' hatred of the Cubs. In light of what their team has accomplished, their main focus still seems to be on how they can stick it to the Cubs with negative comments.
Every Cub fan I know ,meanwhile, watched the playoffs and series with pride, hoping that a Chicago team just might pull it off. I'm a Cub fan, but I couldn't have been happier for the Sox. They're a fucking great bunch of guys who played harder than any other team has in years.
Congrats to the Chisox on a great year. Unlike my beloved Bravos, they siezed the day, in heroic fashion.
