Back in grad school, we had an office right across the hall from a water fountain. Someone put up a sign over the water fountain, imploring people not to, say, pour coffee grounds in, since the drain couldn't handle it. We thought (since we were big damned geeks) it would be funny to replace the sign with other, either more or less appropriate signs, that otherwise looked exactly the same (which took longer than it should have). The one I remember most clearly was from Election Day 1996:
Please Do Not Vote In Water Fountain.
Ed. But Please Vote Today.
