Don't know much about history

Read 'em and weep. These Illinois historic sites are now closed because of our state government's ineptness. In addition, many other state sites have seen reductions in staff and opening days/hours. A short-sighted waste of our cultural heritage.

Seriously, why do we keep allowing our old buildings to be destroyed or fall by the wayside? It's happened alot here too. With each one gone a little bit of history is erased forever.

We are sweeping too much under the rug in the name of progress or to save a buck. Lunacy..
Some things have a value above money.
