As I teach my students, anyone who can figure out how to generate enough power for 7, 8, 9, billion people and minimize the environmental harm will become very rich.drmagoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10348370006624173053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245640.post-21041925870915694622011-03-17T22:07:53.072-05:002011-03-17T22:07:53.072-05:00You're right. Part of the solution at least is concerted global action, with the U.S. as a major participant, to tackle energy in all its dimensions, and climate change. I'm afraid that's not going to happen unless the people overthrow their government. At the polls. But the irony is that climate change, i.e. more extreme weather events, makes another nuclear plant catastrophe more likely.Carloshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12097922323580156789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14245640.post-48406958864302072992011-03-17T09:38:56.318-05:002011-03-17T09:38:56.318-05:00The problem is that there are no workable solution...The problem is that there are no workable solutions to global energy that don't rely on nuclear or fossil fuels. The need is too large for only renewable sources. So you have to balance the risk of nuclear power with the risk of climate change. Neither option is good.drmagoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10348370006624173053noreply@blogger.com
